Design texturing for a functional purpose

1. Customer request

Customer asks Microrelleus possibility to imitate brushed aluminum on mold to avoid metallic part on the final part of the car. The need is coming from a new position of the radar behind the logo. Metallic part is not allowed because of the radar.

2. Microrelleus feedback and first action

Microrelleus analyzes using confocal microscope the desired material imitation and creates a design proposal.

3. Texturing of the mold insert

Nanosecond laser technology allows Microrelleus texturize any pattern in the mold with no design limitation and high quality detail.

4. Final product part – Land Rover Defender

High quality logo texture on a material that lets the radar develop its function.
