Case Study: Daisalux Naos
Micro optics engraving for functional and cost effective final product
Customer request and Microrelleus' feedback
Daisalux requests the possibility of engraving different micro-optics injected in production tool to obtain several benefits on the final product: reduction of elements, complexity and size.
Mold microstructuring
With the femtosecond laser we can engrave free-form microstructures and micro-optics in molds and tools.
Comparison between simulated and measured photometry
Even though in this specific case the plastic is not able to replicate 100% of the microstructure in the injection process because of the complexity and size of the micro-optics, the correlation is very good.
Final product – Daisalux Naos
Thanks to the microstructure, the product obtained has similar projection quality and homogeneity to one using conventional lens and reflector but in a much smaller space. The solution is functional, cost-effective, environmentally friendly and with enhanced design benefits.
